Both renders are HairGlam output. In the app the shade lands on your photo instead.
Burgundy is a red with plum folded into it, darker than auburn and cooler than copper, and against a near-black root the gap between the two is subtle indoors and obvious in daylight. Since both shades are dark, the melt can be very short without looking abrupt. Fading takes the plum out first and leaves a warmer red-brown behind, which is the signal for a refresh rather than a full recolor.
- Undertonecool, neutral. The plum pulls this cooler than most reds, so it sits against fair skin with a pink cast and against deeper skin with neutral or olive depth.
- Starting pointOn dark brown or black hair the burgundy will only show in direct light unless the lengths are lifted a couple of levels first; on medium brown it takes directly.
- UpkeepRefresh the burgundy roughly every fifth week as the plum drops out, and the dark root keeps growing in without any demarcation to correct.
