The rope effect comes from twisting two strands hard in one direction and letting them wind back on themselves, which leaves a visible spiral from root to tip. Kanekalon supplies both the shine and the weight, so the twists hang straight down rather than swinging outward. Ends are dipped in hot water to seal them into a smooth point. That gloss is the real difference from Marley twists, which stay deliberately matte.

  • Suitsround, square, oval, heart face shapes. Long vertical rope lines pull the eye down the face, which narrows a round outline and softens the corners of a square jaw.
  • Hair typecoily, curly, medium density, thick. The base hair needs grip at the root to anchor a long synthetic twist and enough strength to carry the length without hairline tension.
  • UpkeepEight to twelve weeks maximum before take-down, with the edges checked for tension and the scalp washed using diluted shampoo in a bottle.
