Where royal blue is bright, indigo is loaded with depth, and that depth is what makes it wearable for people who want color without brightness. Sunlight is what gives it away, throwing a clear blue-purple sheen across the top of the head. It deposits heavily and fades slowly, shifting toward a slate gray-blue rather than losing its intensity all at once, so there is no ugly middle stage.
- Undertonecool, neutral. It works across cool and neutral skin at most depths because its darkness reads as a near-natural level instead of a bright cast.
- Starting pointLevel seven is sufficient given the depth, so mid-brown hair often needs only a light lift, while black hair still needs bleach for the blue to appear.
- UpkeepTwo months or more of wear, roots growing in as a soft dark shadow rather than a line, but removal later takes several rounds of stripping.
