Hot Magenta

Both renders are HairGlam output. In the app the shade lands on your photo instead.
Set beside a plain pink this reads louder and colder, with a violet edge that stops it looking sweet. It photographs hotter than it looks in the mirror, which is why the shade tends to blow out under phone flash. Magenta pigment is small and mobile, so it stains skin and pillowcases through the first week, then fades to bubblegum and finally a soft rose that plenty of people keep as a second phase.
- Undertonecool, neutral. It sits cleanly on cool and neutral skin because the violet in it echoes pink undertones rather than competing with them.
- Starting pointNeeds a level nine base, so anything below dark blonde has to be lifted; leftover yellow turns the magenta coral.
- UpkeepA pigmented conditioner at every other wash, cool water only, and a full re-dye at around six weeks once the rose phase goes pale.
