A part runs straight from the forehead to the nape and each half is gathered above the ear at roughly temple height, so the buns land where a cat's ears would sit. Because the sections are half-size, the buns are small: they hold best on hair past the shoulder, twisted into themselves rather than looped. Pieces tugged loose at the front and the nape are what stop the two circles reading as matching hardware.
- Suitsoval, diamond, oblong face shapes. The two raised points add width just above the temples, which fills out the narrow upper third of a diamond face and cuts across the vertical run of an oblong one.
- Hair typemedium density, thick, wavy, curly. Texture is the whole mechanism, so wavy, curly or day-old hair grips itself, while slippery straight hair needs a twist plus a hidden elastic inside each bun.
- UpkeepNo special trim cycle beyond your normal one every couple of months, and about five minutes to part, section and get both sides sitting at the same height.
- Ask forAsk for length kept below the collarbone with no layer shorter than the chin, so each half has enough to wrap around a base.
