Knotless Braids

Long box braids started with the natural hair itself, so the base lies flat instead of beading into a knot.

Each part begins with a section of your own hair, and the extension is fed in gradually over the first inch, which is why the root reads smooth rather than bulky. That gradual start puts far less pull on the follicle than a knotted base, so the hairline stays comfortable through the first week. The length hangs with more swing and can be tied up without a lump sitting at the crown.

  • Suitsround, square, heart face shapes. The long vertical fall pulls a round or squared outline in at the sides, and the weight hanging below the jaw balances a wider forehead.
  • Hair typemedium density, thick, curly, coily. Your own hair needs enough length and grip at the root to hold the feed-in, so curly and coily textures anchor it best.
  • UpkeepExpect six to eight weeks before new growth loosens the bases, with a bonnet at night and light scalp oil between washes.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Knotless Braids on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
