All the braids finish at roughly the same point, so the ends form a level line at the jaw instead of tapering off. That short length takes most of the weight out, which is the main reason people choose it over waist-length work: it does not drag on the scalp and it dries fast. Ends are sealed in hot water so they stay blunt and do not fray. Grown out, it simply reads as a slightly longer braided bob.

  • Suitsoval, heart, oblong face shapes. Ending at the jaw puts width exactly where a long or narrow-chinned face needs it, without stacking bulk up at the cheekbones.
  • Hair typemedium density, thick, curly, coily. Any texture that holds a braid works, and the short length is kind to finer natural hair that cannot carry a lot of weight.
  • UpkeepLasts around six weeks, needs almost nothing daily beyond a bonnet, and the ends want re-dipping in hot water if they start to fray.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Braided Bob on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
