Both renders are HairGlam output. In the app the style lands on your photo instead.

The part is combed or razored in and the coils either side are picked away from it, splitting the volume into a larger and a smaller mass. That single straight line does a great deal of work against all the roundness, and it reads more formal, which is why the style turns up at work and at weddings. It has to be redone after every wash, and coils start creeping back over it within a day or two.

  • Suitsround, oval, square face shapes. A straight line through a round shape gives the eye something vertical to follow, which cuts the width a full afro adds.
  • Hair typecoily, curly, medium density, thick. Wants enough density to hold volume either side, and coils tight enough to stand away from the part rather than collapse into it.
  • UpkeepThe same four to six week shape-up as a plain afro, plus a couple of minutes with a rat-tail comb to reopen the part after washing.
  • Ask forAsk for a shaped afro with a part combed in from the forehead back to the crown, or razored if you want it to hold longer.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Side Part Afro on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
