Silver & Gray

Silver

A uniform cool metallic silver with no warmth left in it, closer to brushed steel than to a natural gray.

Both renders are HairGlam output. In the app the shade lands on your photo instead.

Where salt and pepper is a mixture, this is one flat tone across the whole head, and its metallic quality comes from how completely the yellow has been canceled. It shifts noticeably by light source, going almost white in daylight and picking up a blue cast under cool bulbs. The toner is the fragile part: silver washes out fast and the underlying pale yellow returns, so the hair drifts from steel toward dull straw.

  • Undertonecool. Its coolness is a toner effect rather than a pigment one, which is why it sits sharply against pink and neutral skin and can make very golden complexions look ruddy by contrast.
  • Starting pointA silver this clean only lives on hair taken almost to white, so it needs bleaching to a level ten and often two sessions on anything darker than a medium brown.
  • UpkeepPurple shampoo most washes plus a silver gloss every four weeks, and because the lift goes so high the condition cost is real and ongoing.

Try it before the bleach

Color is the expensive mistake to get wrong. Put Silver against your own skin tone first.
