The perimeter sits roughly level with the earlobe, which puts the whole weight of the cut up beside the cheekbone. That leaves the neck and ears fully exposed, so the shape rests on bone structure and hides nothing at all. The line has to be exact at that height, since even slight unevenness reads immediately from behind. It grows into an ordinary chin-length bob within about two months.

  • Suitsoval, oblong face shapes. An edge at earlobe level puts a horizontal high on a long face and adds width at the cheek, and with the jaw and neck left bare there is nothing to soften a wider outline.
  • Hair typefine, medium density, straight. Straight fine to medium hair holds a clean high line, whereas wave or curl lifts the ends further and the shape rounds out above the ear.
  • UpkeepFour to six weeks, because a short blunt line loses shape faster than any other bob, and a flat iron most mornings to keep the edge flat.
  • Ask forAsk for a blunt bob cut at earlobe level, one length all round, and check the back in a hand mirror before the cut is finished.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Micro Bob on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
