Underneath it is still a bob, but the perimeter is point cut so the waves have somewhere to sit and the bends are not fighting a solid edge. Wave shortens hair visibly, so the length is usually cut an inch below where you want it to finish. Day to day it is a mid-heat wave iron or a night in braids, then a salt spray or cream and no brush afterward.

  • Suitssquare, oval, oblong face shapes. Irregular bends replace the hard horizontal edge of a bob, softening a square jaw and adding width at cheek level to a long face.
  • Hair typemedium density, thick, wavy, straight. Natural wave does most of the work here, and straight hair can be waved with heat but drops by evening unless it is fine enough to hold a set.
  • UpkeepEight to ten weeks between cuts, with the waves either set in the morning or slept in, and dry shampoo to stop them going limp.
  • Ask forAsk for a jaw-length bob cut slightly long to allow for wave lift, with the ends point cut and no hard weight line at the bottom.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Wavy Bob on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
