Everything is cut to a single perimeter, so all the weight collects at the bottom and the ends sit as a solid block rather than tapering away. That density is the whole point of the cut, which means it lives or dies on the finish: a round brush turning the very ends slightly under keeps the line reading clean. Grown out, it softens into a shaggier shape well before it loses the edge entirely.
- Suitsoval, heart, diamond face shapes. The heavy horizontal line at the jaw adds width low on the face, filling out a narrow chin and balancing a wider forehead or cheekbone.
- Hair typefine, medium density, thick, straight. Fine hair gains most because an unbroken edge reads as density, while thick hair needs weight taken from the inside or the shape swells above the jaw.
- UpkeepA trim every six to eight weeks keeps the edge sharp, and most mornings need a round brush blow-dry or a quick pass of the flat iron on the ends.
- Ask forAsk for a one-length bob cut at the jawbone with no layers and no graduation, kept blunt with the scissors held flat to the perimeter.
