Burgundy is dark enough to pass for black indoors and only shows its red under direct light or a camera flash. The blue sitting inside the pigment is the first part to rinse away, so the ends warm up as they wear, sliding toward a brick maroon before they go pale. On a dark base the ends need only moderate lift, which makes this one of the kinder red dips on hair condition.

  • Undertonecool, neutral. The plum lean belongs with cool and neutral complexions, and it stays legible on deeper skin rather than sinking into it.
  • Starting pointLifting the ends to a medium or light brown is enough, since burgundy is dark and does not need the pale canvas a bright red demands.
  • UpkeepRed molecules are large and wash out early, so a re-dip somewhere around week five is realistic, skip root work entirely, and expect mild dryness rather than real damage.

Try it before the bleach

Color is the expensive mistake to get wrong. Put Burgundy Dip Dye against your own skin tone first.
