Depth is what works in its favor here: emerald is dark enough to cover a panel that lifted unevenly, where a pastel would expose every patch. Leftover warmth is still the risk, though, since yellow under green turns the panel olive. In low light the underside reads near-black with a green edge, and in sun it goes full jewel tone. The catch comes on the way out, because green pigment stains the cuticle and is among the hardest colors to remove.
- Undertonecool. The blue lean suits cool and olive skin, and the depth of the green keeps it grounded on deeper complexions rather than sitting on top of them.
- Starting pointA level seven base is enough given how dark emerald is, so this takes far less bleaching than a pastel, though the yellow wants knocking back with a toner first.
- UpkeepHolds four to six weeks between top-ups, longer than most vivids, and softens toward a muted forest tone rather than going patchy.
