Purple carries a heavier pigment load than pink or blue, so this panel keeps its identity longer than most vivids do. In shadow it merges with the black on top and simply looks glossy; under lamps or open sky it separates out clearly. Violet fades on a predictable path, losing its red first and drifting toward a dusty blue-gray, and plenty of people leave it there because the faded stage stands up on its own.
