Weight sits on top, where there is enough length to comb forward or push to one side, while the sides and nape are graduated tight to the head with scissor over comb. The perimeter around the ear is cut close so nothing flicks out. Two or three inches of growth and the taper softens into a shaggier crop, which is the point at which it stops holding its outline.

  • Suitsoval, round face shapes. A graduated taper carries the widest point of the head up above the cheekbone, and the length left on top can be combed forward or up to hand a round outline some vertical line.
  • Hair typefine, medium density, straight, wavy. Fine hair carries it well because the graduation does the work rather than the density, though very thick hair has to be debulked from the inside or the top mushrooms.
  • UpkeepA trim every four to five weeks keeps the taper clean, and daily styling is a smear of cream through the top with fingers.
  • Ask forAsk for a scissor over comb taper from the occipital bone down, with the top left long enough to reach the eyebrow when combed forward.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Classic Pixie on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
