A band of length roughly two fingers wide runs front hairline to crown, and everything outside that band is taken short at the parietal ridge. The height is styling rather than cutting: the root is blow dried upward and set with a strong dry spray or clay. Let the sides grow and the strip loses its outline, so the sides are what drives the next appointment rather than the top.

  • Suitsround, square, oval face shapes. Height through the center adds length to the face while the tight sides pull width away at the cheek, which counters a round or squared outline.
  • Hair typemedium density, thick, straight, wavy. The strip has to stand up on its own once the product dries, so it needs density and some coarseness, and very fine hair falls over within an hour.
  • UpkeepThe sides need cleaning up every three to four weeks, and the top takes five minutes of root drying and firm hold product daily.
  • Ask forAsk to keep a strip about two fingers wide from the front hairline to the crown, tapered short from the parietal ridge down on both sides.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Mohawk Pixie on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
