Nothing here stands away from the head. The wave is molded into wet hair with a comb and fingers, each ridge pushed against the next until the S runs in a continuous band from the part around to the ear, then dried hard so it sets solid. The finish is deliberately lacquered rather than soft. It shows every line of the skull and hairline, and it does not survive weather, sleep, or a hand run through it.

  • Suitsoval, square face shapes. Nothing stands away from the head, so the S ridge is the only shaping there is, laying a curve against a square jaw without adding any width at the cheek.
  • Hair typefine, medium density, straight, wavy. It molds most easily on fine to medium hair short enough to lie flat, while coarse or very thick hair resists being pressed against the scalp.
  • UpkeepThere is no low-effort version: the wave is remolded from wet at every wash with setting lotion and a drying net, and trims every six to eight weeks keep the outline sharp.
  • Ask forAsk for a chin-length or shorter shape with a defined side part, then say you want it molded in finger waves with setting lotion rather than iron-curled.

Does it suit your face?

A photo of Finger Waves on someone else cannot answer that. Render it on your own face and you will know in a few seconds.
