This is a set, not a texture. Damp hair is wound into flat coils, pinned against the head, dried, then brushed through, and the brushing is what turns a mass of ringlets into a continuous wave with a defined ridge running along it. At shoulder length the result sits close to the head at the crown and swings out at the ends. It wants a light hairspray and a silk scarf overnight, and it survives about two days before resetting.
- Suitsoval, square, heart, diamond face shapes. The set stays flat at the crown and the wave swings out at jaw level, so the width lands low, taking the edge off a square corner and padding the thin bottom third of a heart or diamond face.
- Hair typefine, medium density, straight, wavy. Fine to medium hair sets fastest and holds the ridge best, while very thick or coarse hair takes hours to dry in pins and often fights the brush-out.
- UpkeepA trim every eight weeks keeps the perimeter even, and the set itself is an evening of pinning plus a scarf each night, so it is genuinely high effort.
- Ask forAsk for a near-blunt shoulder-length shape with minimal layers, then say you are setting it in pin curls so the ends have to be strong enough to roll.
