Once the base is set at the crown, small clear elastics go on every three or four inches, and the hair between each pair is tugged outward by hand to round it. Spacing decides everything: even gaps read graphic, uneven ones read as a mistake. Long hair takes four or five bubbles, shoulder length takes two. Cut the elastics out downward rather than dragging them off the ends, which is where the breakage happens.
- Suitsoval, round, square face shapes. Each bubble parks its width behind the head rather than beside the cheek, so the only thing the shape adds at the face is the height of the base at the crown.
- Hair typemedium density, thick, straight, wavy. Each bubble has to fill out into a round shape, so it wants medium to thick density and at least shoulder-length hair to make more than two segments.
- UpkeepA styling set rather than a cut, around ten minutes to build, with an ends trim every twelve weeks so the final bubble does not thin out to nothing.
- Ask forAsk for clear elastics set every three to four inches below a crown base, with each section fanned out by hand between them.
