Icy Blue Dip Dye

Pale washed blue at the ends, faint enough to read as a cold cast over the bleach rather than a color of its own.

Both renders are HairGlam output. In the app the shade lands on your photo instead.

This is a pastel, so the pigment is thin and most of what you see is the pale canvas underneath wearing a blue cast. It reads as cool gray in shade and shows its blue clearly outdoors or against a white background. Because the tint is so light, any warmth left in the bleach turns it green instead of blue, which is the usual way this shade goes wrong.

  • Undertonecool. Unambiguously cool, and it wants fair to light skin carrying a pink or blue cast, since a tint this weak needs something to contrast against.
  • Starting pointThe ends must be lifted close to white at level ten and toned free of yellow before the blue will read icy rather than teal.
  • UpkeepPastel blue washes out within a handful of shampoos, so a tinted conditioner becomes routine, the roots need nothing, and heavily lifted ends need careful handling.

Try it before the bleach

Color is the expensive mistake to get wrong. Put Icy Blue Dip Dye against your own skin tone first.
